For many years I lived in the Lincoln Park section of Chicago. The seasons are magnificent. My all time favorite is fall. A close runner up is spring. This photograph was taken on a wonderful early spring day. The trees, the flowers even the grass were in full bloom. I shot 9 roles of film on this day in this park. I have lived in California where everything blooms all the time. I never noticed. To appreciate spring fully, you must first endure winter. Where there is no winter, there can be no spring. I think it is the same way with my life. God has allowed just enough saddness so that I could better appreciate joy. Contrast is as important in a life as it is in a picture. |
